This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with 11–25% required travel. Anticipated salary range: $99,408 – $120,000.

About the role

HII-Mission Technologies seeks a remote Project Manager to support customers in the Department of Defense Geographic Combatant Commands (GCC). The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of defense industry contract management practices.

This role resides within All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group focused on multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates, and manages sensors, systems, and assets to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making for the Department of Defense, combatant commands, and the intelligence community.

The Logistics, ISR, and Next-Gen Technology (LOGIX) Task Order supports the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Strategy by advancing joint/combined capability development, delivering information advantage through ISR operations and logistics, and accelerating technological solutions for Mission Partner systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, in collaboration with project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Effectively allocate and manage resources across multiple projects to optimize productivity and deliver results within defined constraints.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with the program and individual projects; develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial guidelines; provide regular reports to stakeholders and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines to deliver high-quality deliverables.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of project managers, engineers, analysts, and other professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress, track project milestones, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including reporting requirements, deliverables, and applicable regulations or legal obligations.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, identify areas for enhancement, and implement best practices to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6 years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 4 years with a Master’s degree; or a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 10 years of relevant progressive experience.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the defense industry or government contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of defense industry practices, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-year contracts with greater than $20M annual revenue and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on delivering projects within defined constraints.
  • Sound financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a track record of managing risks and making timely, informed judgments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Defense Aerospace or Airborne ISR contracts.
  • 3+ years of experience managing Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF) type contracts supporting the Department of Defense.
  • 3+ years of experience using Smartsheet to manage projects and Office365 products to streamline communications in geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III Program Management certification.

Physical Requirements

May require occasional visits to job sites in industrial or shipboard environments. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above floor level.
