About the role
The Logistics Technician will work as part of the logistics team to maintain high performance for all departmental standards including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity within the Innovation and Development Division (IDD). IDD drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations and contributes to the Group's transformation by imagining, developing, and incubating new solutions, particularly those with high technological content.
Responsibilities
- Drive a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" through daily actions and communication.
- Observe and avoid unsafe behaviors or conditions; report hazards to supervisors.
- Strictly adhere to safety policies, including HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and LOTO policies.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
- Operate assigned tasks safely and efficiently to meet daily productivity goals.
- Follow all work processes and instructions relevant to specific assignments.
- Prepare cylinders for shipments (removing old labels, painting, inspecting, wrapping valves, labeling per Air Liquide and D.O.T. requirements, barcode scanning, loading/unloading on pallets).
- Perform shipping and receiving-related ERP transactions via SAP.
- Ensure accuracy of all ERP transactions for operational efficiency.
- Prepare shipping paperwork according to Air Liquide Policy and D.O.T. regulations.
- Coordinate delivery and pickup of cylinders and other materials with common carriers and Air Liquide locations.
- Ship, receive, and deliver supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload carrier trucks.
- Load and unload sea containers, including appropriate blocking and bracing per IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirements.
- Maintain inventory control records and conduct inventory cycle counts.
- Update immediate manager on completed and pending tasks at the end of each shift.
- Escalate potential safety or quality concerns.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.
- Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA, and MSDS standards.
- Successfully complete all assigned trainings.
- Roll cylinders (tilt and move cylinders weighing up to 200 lbs).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management).
- Ability to roll cylinders weighing up to 200 lbs.
- Ability to work at both Air Liquide Pennsylvania sites.
- Forklift certification.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow work instructions and safety protocols.
- Understanding of the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases.
- Experience filing IMO, AES, and ISF.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, adapt to challenges, and maintain focus.
- Organized with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; capable of interacting with all support departments.
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to move around a large warehouse for 8+ hours in a fast-paced environment.
- Repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Significant manual dexterity for data entry over long periods.
- Must be clean-shaven and able to medically pass a respiratory and physical test to wear a full-face respirator as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior industrial gas experience.
Pay
Competitive pay with bonus.
Schedule
- Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, subject to change based on business needs.
- Overtime may be required periodically.
- Travel: 0 - 5% based on business needs.
