Logistics Specialist

Duties And Responsibilities

• Coordinate goods shipped from origin to destination under appropriate supervision.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and vendors to ensure customer goals are met.
• Develop capacity solutions to support customer needs.
• Maintain and grow relationships with carrier accounts and identify revenue opportunities.
• Conduct calls with carriers to determine driver availability and negotiate transportation rates.
• Direct drivers and provide information regarding pick-up and delivery locations.
• Ensure specific customer load requirements are met on committed and/or transactional shipments.
• Assist with developing invoicing data and coordinating this information with accounts payable.
• Provide exceptional service to contracted carriers and internal customers.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Experience with computers, including knowledge of Excel and Access programs, helpful.
• Knowledgeable with transportation industry.
