Job Summary
This position requires being on-site daily at the Franklin, TN office. The Logistics Specialist will develop a book of business using intermodal, highway, and drayage capabilities. They will manage freight brokerage operations, build carrier relationships, negotiate rates, and ensure shipment tracking and resolution of service issues. The role demands consistent communication with shippers, carriers, and internal teams, while maintaining accurate data and meeting performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day freight brokerage operations from booking to delivery
- Source, qualify, and maintain carrier relationships
- Negotiate rates and secure capacity based on market conditions
- Track shipments and proactively resolve service issues
- Communicate consistently with shippers, carriers, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate data in the TMS and ensure compliance standards are met
- Learn freight lanes, pricing trends, and operational best practices
- Meet performance goals related to volume, margin, and service levels
Qualifications
- No experience necessary
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of proven success in freight brokerage or dray brokerage
- Established shipper relationships with a track record of growing a book of business
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth or fast-paced environment
- Industry knowledge of Intermodal, Drayage, Brokerage, and Warehousing
- Strong negotiation skills and a competitive, results-driven mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and TMS platforms (or a fast learner)
