Logistics Specialist
About the role
The Logistics Specialist will manage customer accounts and daily operations. A successful person in this role will develop strategies and build relationships with both customers and carriers while ensuring shipments move efficiently from pickup through delivery. The Logistics Specialist will operate in a fast-paced role focused on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule transportation for inbound and outbound shipments
- Act as the main point of contact for customers and carriers providing proactive communication
- Provide customers with shipment information and ensure changes to orders are acknowledged and acted upon in a timely manner

- Provide quick and effective solutions to resolve transportation delays and complications
- Work effectively and collaboratively with all departments and team members
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipment operations
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma is required
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, business, supply chain, or carrier sales is highly preferred
- Minimum 1-year third-party logistics experience preferred
- Minimum 1-year sales and/or customer service experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Superb verbal and written communication, strong professional phone presence
- Proven ability to work independently and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and persuasive skills
- Sense of urgency when resolving customer issues
- Attention to detail without sacrificing accuracy
- Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks in a high-stress environment
- Determination and tenaciousness with strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
