Logistics Specialist

Position Description

Attend production meetings and run daily shipment reports from ERP system.
Examine shipping contents and compare with packing slips from ERP system and invoices.
Pull materials for shipping, including outbound transfer orders (OTC) and projects.
Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies.
Prepare bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping orders to route materials.
Ensure materials are packed/crated, sealed, labeled, or affixed with postage or prepared for shipping and ERP system.
Depending on shipping vendor and method, use different computer applications to process shipments.
Ensure project items pass shipping audits with the quality department.
Use online shipping platforms to work with freight carriers and book shipments.
Compare shipping routes or methods to determine those with the least environmental and financial impact.
Perform Restricted Party Screening and review/export compliance issues, working with Import/Export Specialists.
Interface with departments, project managers, and customer care to arrange and schedule shipments.
Resolve shipping issues, such as credit holds, special shipping requests, duty-free requests, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience in Logistics
• 3-5 years ERP experience
• Proficient in MS Software
• Able to operate forklift

Preferred Qualifications

• CIS9 experience
• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Certified to ship dangerous goods
