About the role
A2G International is seeking a Logistics Manager to provide Life Cycle Logistics & Subject Matter Expert (SME) capabilities to meet our Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (AISR) infrastructure mission requirements while adhering to DoD & Program Executive Office Command, Control, Computer & Communications (PEO-C4) directives, regulations, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with aerospace, defense, and advanced-manufacturing vendors.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers.
- Lead price, lead-time, and contract negotiations.
- Procure mechanical, electrical, composite, propulsion, and COTS components.
- Develop and implement the overall supply chain strategy to meet business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then develop and implement strategies for improvement and cost reduction.
- Work with other departments like operations, finance, and sales to coordinate plans and resolve issues.
- Manage and develop a supply chain team, setting performance expectations and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance guidelines.
- Negotiation, communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and relationship-building.
- Must comply with all DoD implemented safety procedures and use any job-related equipment in a safe manner.
- Supporting A2G, hired candidate will maintain the company logistics software, currently Veryon, to manage inventory and perform periodic warehouse inventories while investigating for discrepancies.
- Provide supply chain management expertise and recommendations for A2G systems by conducting Supply chain analytics, CPSR environment, Govt contracting FAR/DFAR compliance, project management, and proficiency with SAP ERP systems.
- Research, recommend, formulate, validate, and monitor Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) requirements to acquire, receive, store, consolidate, transfer, ship, issue & dispose of materials, equipment, spare parts, repair parts and consumable items.
- Shipping and issuing materials, supplies, tools and equipment both domestically and internationally while precisely tracking items between locations and delivery to job sites, ensuring items are delivered according to schedule.
- Manage freight forwarders and logistics providers.
- Research, assess, and determine the cause of supply discrepancies, providing remediation recommendations.
- Manage and maintain the logistics inventory management database.
- Effectively use inventory management database in conjunction with supplier cost information to estimate parts consumption rates and forecast parts replenishment within a given budget.
- Travel to CONUS & OCONUS sites to perform logistics management functions.
- Evaluate and recommend item packaging levels and storage requirements based on design specifications, environmental conditions, shelf life, safety precautions, and security requirements.
- Analyze overall system and equipment reliability, maintainability, and availability characteristics of A2G systems and subsystems to determine material condition and projected availability.
- Produce acquisition logistics documentation in support of the PEO and Program Managers.
- Correspond and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders as required.
- Provide logistics expertise and prepare correspondence, memorandums, white papers, briefings, reports and or records of meetings/minutes, and other written, oral, or graphic presentations.
- Conduct and participate in logistics, technical, business, and programmatic Integrated Product Teams (IPT), working groups, meetings, program updates, reviews, and conferences.
Requirements
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- A minimum of 4+ years as a logistics professional managing parts/inventory/and supply chain budgeting. DoD-related aviation logistics experience is highly desired.
- Candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift boxes/materials up to 30 lbs. with ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills oriented towards customer service and supplier relationships.
- Strict attention to detail with strong organizational, facilitation, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics.
- Skilled in using Windows-based systems and applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Advanced knowledge of databases and spreadsheets with efficient and accurate data-entry skills.
- Skilled at using small hand tools.
- Demonstrated research and analysis skills with the ability to read, interpret, and draw conclusions from data.
High Desired Experience
- Experience with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS)
- Experience keeping a detailed inventory of supply items being stored and shipped to/from multiple locations.
- Experience preparing and reviewing documents related to supply items being stored and shipped.
- Experience tracking parts and materials through the life cycle of a project/program.
- Ability to integrate logistics planning initiatives into supportable programming documentation.
- Ability to develop plans to field and sustain equipment CONUS and OCONUS.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in related field of study and/or 4+ years of related experience in DoD Aviation Logistics Management.
