Duties

  • Help Lead Joint Exercise Life Cycle events and control groups;
  • design exercises using Defense Readiness Reporting System metrics and Joint Mission Essential Task Lists.
  • Conduct Rehearsal of Concept drills, Tabletop Exercises, and scenario simulations.
  • Manage Defense Logistics Agency training requirements and assessments within the Joint Training Tool (JTT).
  • Lead DLA delegation at Combatant Command (CCMD) and Joint Training and Synchronization Conferences.
  • Prepare and brief senior Defense Logistics Agency leadership throughout all phases of exercise planning, execution, and post-exercise analysis.
  • Develop and staff the annual Director's Joint Training Plan.
  • Cookordination agency participation in National Level Exercises and Joint Experimentation with the Joint Staff and CCMDs.
  • Align Defense Logistics Agency goals with Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Command, and Service Exercise Programs.
  • Integrate high-level Department of War planning documents into tactical-to-strategic combat support operations.
  • Represent the J35 Plans Directorate in Joint Exercise Community forums.
  • Determine operational requirements to meet the Defense Logistics Agency Director's Strategic Vision.
  • Identify and manage budget requirements/execution to support the annual DLA Joint Training Plan.
  • Request/track any CCMD reimbursable funding tied to DLA support to joint exercises.
  • Establish ethical, efficient management procedures to monitor workflow.
  • Manage the exercise budget and utilize the Defense Travel System (DTS) to execute participant travel.
  • Assist logistics contingency planners in the development and evaluation of DLA Support Plans, concept of operations, concept of support/logistics and logistics supportability assessment.

Qualifications

  • To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist for this specific role/job, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
  • To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
  • Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
