About the role
The Axle claims department is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Claims Processor to manage the risk process for optimal customer payout and minimal loss to Axle. This role involves maintaining detailed documentation of claim communication, organizing initial information, and ensuring concise recordkeeping. You will play a key role in tracking, monitoring, and reporting claim details.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all claims are received and submitted in a timely manner with appropriate follow-up on missing information and investigation of needed details.
- Compile information for notification of claims to carriers and insurance, performing regular follow-ups with adjusters, carriers, and providing updates to customers.
- Review claim submissions and verify the information.
- Oversee data entry and documentation for each claim until its completion.
- Assess next steps in the process based on values and information provided.
- Process claim payments.
- Comply with federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
- Perform other clerical tasks as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience as a claims processor or in a related role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional correspondence with adjusters, customers, and carriers.
- Organizational mindset and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant federal and state regulations (familiarity with the freight industry is a plus).
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Good administrative and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
