About the role

The purpose of this position is to assist the Logistics Department in guaranteeing the efficient inbound and outbound flow of goods, in accordance with company standards and procedures. The Logistics Assistant reports to the Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Standards:
    • Adhere to all company safety regulations and policies
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, serving as a role model for workplace hygiene
    • Manage documentation related to waste disposal
  • ERP System Handling:
    • Prepare delivery notes and picking lists to ensure accurate information transfer between the warehouse and ERP system
    • Record incoming goods in the SAP system by verifying packing lists and inspecting received items
  • Transport Handling:
    • Organize transportation of finished products to customers
    • Collaborate with customers' local teams to solve minor delivery issues and daily tasks
    • Manage the exchanges of returnable packaging between plants and clients (pallets, boxes, trays, etc.)
  • Warehouse Handling:
    • Participate in the periodic physical inventory
    • Organize transportation of all inbound items (equipment and spare parts)
  • Production Handling:
    • Prepare and expedite purchase orders for materials and services needed
  • Analytics & Organization:
    • Prepare data and reports for logistics department, including creation of reports in Microsoft Excel, data entry, and analysis of data
    • Review and organize files: create well-structured electronic filing system with a logical hierarchy of folders and consistent naming conventions
  • Communication and Cooperation:
    • Promote effective communication between team and manager
    • Interact with various business functions to drive high performance culture
    • Correspond with both internal and external customers effectively

Requirements

  • Associate's degree preferred, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Required: basic Excel skills

Qualifications

  • Preferred: advanced skills such as pivot tables, advanced formulas, Google Sheets, etc.
  • Preferred: 1-year experience working in a logistics department within a manufacturing company
  • Preferred: background in information systems or business administration
  • Preferred: working knowledge of an ERP system (preferably SAP)
