About the Role

USCS’s Co-Op program offers an opportunity to be a contributing member in the transportation department. Co-Ops gain hands-on analytics experience and expand their understanding of a 3PL’s supply chain function. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a professional team of analysts and be exposed to a corporate office environment. The co-op will learn about the frozen food warehousing and transportation industry by helping USCS create solutions for a nationwide system of carriers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Run Weekly and Monthly Reports: Prepare and deliver regular reports for customers and management, focusing on key metrics such as performance, efficiency, and cost.
  • High-Impact Dashboard Development: Create and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide insights for management to drive strategic decisions.
  • Maintain Internal Analytics Tools: Ensure the smooth operation of various internal analytics tools used for tracking performance, trends, and KPIs, including routine checks, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Data Synthesis and Reporting: Gather data from various systems (TMS, WMS, CRM, Power BI) to create cohesive, customer-specific reports with customization based on unique customer needs and internal objectives.
  • KPI Monitoring: Identify, report, and monitor relevant KPIs essential for evaluating business performance and growth opportunities.
  • Carrier Performance Tracking: Report and track carrier performance through scorecards to help determine contracted volumes of freight based on carrier efficiency and rates.
  • Presentation Preparation: Collect and analyze data to create PowerPoint and Excel presentations for internal and external stakeholders, requiring innovative approaches in data procurement, layout, and design.
  • Respond to RFPs and Business Reviews: Assist in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and contribute to Business Reviews by providing insightful analysis and data-backed recommendations.
  • Ad Hoc Reports: Work on “ad hoc” requests from stakeholders to address high-impact business questions.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with teams across the organization, such as systems, operations, and billing, to ensure data integrity, share insights, and support business initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within reporting and analytics workflows, and suggest or implement enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Training and Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for internal analytics tools and processes, and provide training to team members or stakeholders.
  • Data Governance: Ensure adherence to data governance standards and practices, maintaining the quality and security of data used in reports and dashboards.
  • Automation of Reports: Explore opportunities to automate repetitive reporting tasks using tools such as Power BI, SQL, or VBA to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Entry-level, Co-Op, or intern experience in Supply Chain preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including:
    • Excel – Beginner to Moderate
    • PowerPoint – Moderate
    • Word – Moderate
    • Outlook – Beginner is acceptable
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both written and spoken.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Reliable mode of transportation.

Pay

Hourly rate: $19.00/hr.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt, hourly position with bi-weekly pay.
