Position Summary
At Ecowaste Solutions the Logistics Administrator is responsible for coordinating and managing service reroutes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and uninterrupted waste collection operations. This position works closely with Operations, Dispatch, Customer Service, and Drivers to identify routing needs, implement route changes, and maintain accurate service and routing data. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and capable of making timely decisions in a fast-paced environment while balancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities
- Cook up and manage daily, temporary, and permanent route changes to maintain efficient service coverage.
- Analyze existing collection routes to identify opportunities for improved productivity, reduced drive time, and balanced workloads.
- Process reroute requests resulting from new customers, service cancellations, construction, road closures, customer requests, weather events, and operational changes.
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure reroutes are communicated accurately and implemented on schedule.
- Maintain route sequencing, service frequencies, and customer information within the routing system.
- Verify that route updates are reflected accurately in dispatch software, GPS systems, and driver tablets.
- Cook up with Customer Service to communicate service schedule changes and resolve routing-related concerns.
- Monitor route performance and identify recurring issues affecting efficiency or service quality.
- Generate reports on reroute activity, route density, productivity, missed pickups, and service exceptions.
- Aid in territory balancing and route optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Assign customers to the most efficient collection routes.
- Ensure routing records remain accurate and compliant with company standards.
- Aid during operational disruptions by coordinating emergency reroutes and contingency service plans.
- Work closely with operations to minimize service interruptions related to equipment availability.
- Maintain confidentiality of operational and customer information.
- Perform additional logistics and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2–3 years of logistics, routing, dispatch, transportation, or waste industry experience is required.
- Experience with route optimization or dispatch software is preferred.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications is essential.
- Experience interpreting maps, routing software, and GPS systems is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Strong communication skills are crucial for working across multiple departments.
- The ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines is important.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the solid waste, recycling, environmental services, transportation, or trucking industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with route optimization software, GIS mapping, or fleet management systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of DOT regulations and operational logistics is a plus.
