Locum Tenens Pediatric Surgeon

About the Role

Seeking a Pediatric Surgeon for inpatient duties in Tucson, AZ. The role involves providing surgical care, including laparoscopic procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication, as well as head/neck surgeries (including thyroid), chest wall/pleural procedures, GI endoscopy, chest tube placement, and central line insertions.

The surgeon will manage patient admissions, perform phone consultations, and handle approximately two patients with one admission. The position requires being on 24-hour call.

Responsibilities

• Perform laparoscopic procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, Nissen fundoplication)
• Conduct head/neck surgeries, including thyroid procedures
• Perform chest wall/pleural procedures, GI endoscopy, chest tube placement, and central line insertions
• Manage patient admissions and phone consultations
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage

Requirements

• Licensed to practice in Arizona (no IMLC required)
• Experience with the surgical procedures listed above
• Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically Epic
