Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner

About the role

This position is for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) providing cardiothoracic and vascular surgical coverage in a hospital setting. The role involves managing inpatient and outpatient care, including hospital rounds, consults, and supporting an operative schedule of 2-4 surgeries daily.

The NP will work primarily during day shifts with one weekly night call shift as backup, supporting a team that includes Physician Associates and APRNs.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient and outpatient care, including hospital rounds and consults
• Support an operative schedule of 2-4 surgeries daily
• Maintain clinical documentation via EPIC EMR
• Exercise prescriptive authority

Requirements

• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery
• Ability to provide care for patients of all ages

Schedule

Primarily day shifts with one weekly night call shift as backup.

Collaborative environment with limited rounding duties, emphasizing quality patient care and team coordination.
