Practice setting & call

• Inpatient only practice setting
• Call only coverage — beeper call with 20-minute response time
• Call ratio: 1:24 — 5 phone consults, 4–5 patients seen, 4–5 admissions per call

Procedures & surgical requirements

• General CV/thoracic surgery — open and endoscopic required
• CABG, valvular repair, aneurysm repair, lung resection, and TAVR required
• AICD placement, LVAD, bronchoscopy, and vent management required
