About the role
Pediatric Hospitalist
3 consecutive 24-hr shifts per 7-day block — in-house coverage
6 x 24-hr shifts per month — 3 consecutive shifts twice monthly
Inpatient census: 1 – 5 patients per day
8-bed inpatient pediatric unit
Inpatient pediatrics, ED consults, newborn nursery, circumcisions
Intubation, central line placement, non-invasive ventilation required
NRP and PALS certification required
Strong cross-specialty collaboration supporting inpatient pediatric care
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with patients and families
- Assess and manage patient conditions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and non-invasive ventilation
- Participate in NRP and PALS programs
Requirements
- NRP and PALS certification
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics
- Experience with inpatient pediatrics, emergency department consults, newborn nursery, and circumcision procedures
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in medical procedures
