Locum | Physician General Surgery

About the role

A 200-bed facility with Level 3 trauma center designation is seeking a locum tenens general surgeon to cover 20 patients per shift with 10 phone consults per 24 hours. The position requires skills in general surgery trauma, laparoscopic procedures, GI endoscopy, vascular surgery, chest tube insertion, and central line insertion.

Responsibilities

• Perform general surgery trauma and laparoscopic procedures
• Conduct GI endoscopy and vascular surgery procedures
• Insert chest tubes and central lines
• Manage 20 patients per shift
• Handle 10 phone consults per 24 hours

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• Current medical license in good standing
• Experience with general surgery trauma and laparoscopic procedures
• Skills in GI endoscopy and vascular surgery
• Experience with chest tube and central line insertion

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Board certification in general surgery

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
