Locum | Physician General Surgery

About the role

A locum tenens General Surgeon is needed in North Carolina to cover nights and weekends for inpatient and outpatient call coverage. The position involves up to 8 elective surgical cases per day, solo call coverage, and a caseload of 25 patients per day during outpatient clinic. Duties include performing upper and lower scope procedures, gallbladder and appendix removal, and hernia repair.

Responsibilities

• Performing surgeries such as upper and lower scope procedures, gallbladder and appendix removal, and hernia repair
• Covering inpatient and outpatient call schedules
• Treating up to 8 elective surgical cases per day
• Solo call coverage for 25 patients per day during outpatient clinic
• Handling a variety of surgical procedures

Requirements

• Board-certified in general surgery
• Minimum 5 years of experience preferred
• BLS certification required
