A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position. CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients. The Locksmith is responsible for skilled repair and service of locks, electronic access equipment, and related hardware, including key-making.

About the role

The Locksmith performs mechanical and electronic maintenance on all locks, key or keyless devices, and similar security hardware. This position handles both routine and emergency locksmith functions, ensuring security and access control for buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on new and existing locks, locking controls, doors, and related equipment as directed by work orders or Facility Manager/Supervisor.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains pneumatic locking systems, door positioning sensors, electric doors, manual and electronic panic devices, and openers.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains electro-magnetic latching systems; wires and installs card reading and scanning devices.
  • Establishes key lock and related systems for controlled building access, ensuring security.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts locks; checks keys and locks for wear, repairing or replacing as needed.
  • Responds to emergency requests for building locking device issues within established promptness standards.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as work order documentation and record keeping.
  • Ensures all work conforms to contractual agreements, quality standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Handles preventive and corrective lock and safe maintenance work orders.
  • Maintains required records and logs; submits clear, legible, and complete work documentation into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Stays updated on advanced locksmith technologies and trends.
  • Follows tool control, lock control policies, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Pursues continuing education related to certifications for security locking systems and appurtenances.
  • Communicates task and project timelines to Facility Manager/Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Ensures proper key control is established and followed by all staff.
  • Completes all required compliance, safety, and developmental training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or 4-6 years of locksmith or maintenance experience in commercial environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience completing documentation in compliance with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to succeed.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service to meet client needs.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Holds licenses/certifications as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
  • Self-motivated, able to multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
