Local Event Producer & Promoter (freelance, commission only)

About the role

A local event producer and promoter is needed to manage events in Ann Arbor, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Sioux City, Iowa. The position is freelance and paid on a commission basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute events in various locations across Michigan and Iowa
• Manage logistics including venue coordination, vendor selection, and budgeting
• Collaborate with artists and performers to secure bookings and negotiate contracts
• Market and promote events through social media, email campaigns, and other digital channels
• Ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning and management
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with event marketing and promotion

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in event management, marketing, or a related field (optional)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in event production
