About the role

The Local Event Producer & Promoter position is a freelance, commission-only role available in Ann Arbor, MI; Flint, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Lansing, MI; Des Moines, IA; Cedar Rapids, IA; and Sioux City, IA. This role involves producing and promoting local events.

Responsibilities

• Develop event concepts and marketing strategies to attract attendees
• Coordinate with venues and vendors to ensure smooth event execution
• Manage event logistics including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with performers
• Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community leaders
• Collaborate with clients to understand their event goals and tailor services accordingly
• Ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience in event production and promotion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with event planning software and tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in event management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in event production and promotion
