Local Event Producer & Promoter (freelance, commission only)

About the role

A local event producer and promoter is needed to manage events in Ann Arbor, Flint, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Sioux City, Iowa. The position is freelance and paid on a commission basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage event logistics including venue coordination, vendor selection, and budgeting
• Develop and execute promotional strategies to attract attendees
• Collaborate with artists and performers to secure their participation
• Handle ticket sales and customer service
• Ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience in event production and promotion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in event management, marketing, or a related field (not required but preferred)
• Experience with event planning software and ticketing systems
