Local Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Williston, VT. The role involves safe transportation, loading, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders, managing customer relations, operating warehouse equipment, and adhering to hazardous material safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Handle the loading and unloading of all materials.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintaining the vehicle's condition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Class B CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 90 days of being hired.
• Must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Able to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adhere to safety regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift Experience.
• Touch freight delivery experience preferred.

Pay

$30.00 - $32.00 per hour, with a $2500 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, AM start time.
