About the role

Join Ben E. Keith as a Shuttle Driver and play an important role in keeping our operations moving. This position is ideal for drivers who enjoy predictable routes, being home regularly, and building valuable experience with a respected industry leader.

Responsibilities

• Transport loaded trailers from the branch to designated shuttle locations.
• Return empty trailers to the branch for reloading.
• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles while following all DOT and company regulations.
• Maintain scheduled delivery and pickup times.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Communicate any issues, delays, or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Represent Ben E. Keith professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Deliver loaded trailers to shuttle depot and pick up empty trailers to return.
• Maintain delivery time windows.
• Immediately communicate problems with supervisor.
• Perform duties by following the company’s safety standards.
• Represent Ben E. Keith with professionalism, maintaining a positive attitude, following dress code and cleanliness standards.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with Double/Triple endorsements with 1-year experience required.
• DOT qualified and able to meet all DOT requirements.
• Good driving record with no more than one moving violation within the past three years.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements.
• At least one year of commercial driving experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Ability to safely operate tractors with 28', 36', and 48' trailers.
• Must be able to climb in and out of tractors and trailers frequently.
• Must be able to read route information, product descriptions, and safety documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Normal use of hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet to safely perform job duties.
• Able to perform repetitive lift over 50 lbs.
• Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, feet, and legs.
• Must be able to read numbers and product descriptions.
