Loan Officer

About the role

We are seeking a member-focused Loan Officer with a passion for building lasting relationships and enhancing member satisfaction to join our team in Rock Island, Illinois. This role plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming experience for members while providing accurate financial transactions and personalized solutions to member needs.

Responsibilities

• Actively listen to members' needs to identify, assess, and educate on solutions that may include products and services such as deposit accounts, loans, and credit cards.
• Handle a variety of transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing accurately and efficiently.
• Open new deposit accounts; originate and close consumer loans; handle the collection of all required loan documents (e.g., financial statements, collateral verification) and forward to consumer loan operations for processing.
• Respond to member inquiries regarding account operations, service access, resolving discrepancies, balancing and reconciling accounts, adjusting service features, and assisting members in maximizing service offerings.
• Complete internal trainings within 6 months of starting the role, if not previously obtained: CDs, New Accounts (including Specialty Accounts), IRAs, Personal Loans, and Vehicle Loans.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven ability to identify and pursue new sales leads and business opportunities.
• Proven success in new account opening and consumer loan origination.
• High level of integrity and commitment to exceptional member service with a genuine desire to help others.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport quickly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Team-oriented with flexibility to adapt and support various member needs.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving between work sites.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, including conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, receiving detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
• Finger, handle, touch: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm, including applying pressure with fingers and palm.
• Lifting Demands: Up to 50 lbs.
• Visual Demands: Visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects or parts, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts at close distances.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00–$22.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.
