Loan Officer

We are seeking a motivated, client‑focused Relationship Manager to join our community banking lending team. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience in banking or financial services, with strong knowledge of evaluating, authorizing, and securing personal, commercial, and mortgage loans. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, analyzing financial information, supporting sound lending decisions, and contributing to the growth of the bank.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to both current and prospective loan customers.
• Gives financial advice and counsel to customers.
• Contributes to profitability and growth of the bank by building, developing, and managing new and expanded client relationships.
• Actively cross‑sells appropriate banking products and services to new and existing customers and refers clients to other banking areas for additional needs.
• Analyzes and makes decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to a superior or loan committee.
• Manages a portfolio of loans to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
• Coordinates lending activities with others in the organization.
• Coordinates and communicates with the Branch Manager to assist with rotations of opening, closing, lunch periods, etc.
• Serves as the main point of contact for loans in assigned branches and serves as backup contact for other branches.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in commercial, retail, and mortgage lending, banking, and financial analysis.
• Good understanding of financial statements and credit fundamentals.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with banking systems is a plus.
• Must maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
