About the role
Provides clerical support for commercial lending activities under direct supervision and serves as a backup to the teller line, delivering high-quality, professional service to customers at all times.
Responsibilities
- Processes loan payments and tracks insurance on business loans
- Monitors disbursements on construction and development loans
- Types a variety of documents, records, and reports
- Opens, sorts, and distributes mail
- Receives deposits and loan payments in person or by mail
- Processes cash advances, gift/travel cards, cashiers’ checks, government bonds, and similar transactions
- Disburses cash or issues checks/withdrawals after verification of signatures and customer balances
- Processes assigned cash and transactions and balances at end of day
- Verifies transactions, monitors deposit amounts, examines documents for proper endorsement and negotiability, and detects and resolves discrepancies promptly
- Operates online teller terminal and provides account status information to customers (in person, by telephone, or by mail) as authorized
- Processes transfers and places holds on uncollected funds in accordance with established policy
- Assists with Safe Deposit Boxes
- Answers telephone calls, assists customers with questions and concerns, directs calls to appropriate person/department, and records and relays messages
- Maintains security of assigned work area and locks all drawers when leaving work area
- Receives account holders’ change of address and forwards documentation to the appropriate department
- Ensures that customers’ requests and questions are promptly resolved
- Obtains and conveys information as needed
- Coordinates functions with related departments and branches and provides support as needed
- Helps other area personnel as required
- Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
- Maintains and projects the Bank’s professional reputation
- Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times and serves as a community representative
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Attends meetings as required
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in a financial environment helpful
- Basic knowledge of commercial and consumer loan services and procedures preferred
- Familiarity with general loan documentation helpful
- Accurate and attentive to detail
- Well organized
- Good typing skills
- Willing and able to help others
- Able to use a computer, adding machine, copy machine, and basic business equipment
- Able to get along well with coworkers
