Key Responsibilities
- Operating a forklift to safely move palletized products within the warehouse facility.
- Ensuring the securement of pallets by accurately and securely strapping them using appropriate materials and techniques.
- Conducting visual inspections of products prior to wrapping to confirm there is no damage or defects that could compromise the integrity of the shipment.
- Collaborating with warehouse personnel to coordinate the efficient loading of pallets onto trucks or other transportation vehicles.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift and performing load securement tasks to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area by performing routine housekeeping tasks, such as sweeping, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials.
- Reporting any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues to the appropriate supervisor for prompt resolution.
- Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions related to load securement, forklift operation, and warehouse operations.
- Participating in training sessions and safety meetings to enhance knowledge of load securement best practices and safety procedures.
- Assisting with other warehouse tasks and duties as needed to support overall operational efficiency and meet production goals.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating a forklift safely and effectively.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in a role involving load securement or shipping/receiving activities.
- Knowledge of proper load securement techniques and familiarity with strapping materials and equipment.
- An attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspections to identify potential product damage or quality issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- A physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- A willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production demands.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
