Description
The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and/or unloading railcars, rail yard switching, preparing rail-cars for loading and/or unloading, and performing some track and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Loading and/or unloading railcars in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensuring all materials are loaded and/or unloaded and stockpiled to meet all quality control requirements
- Shoveling, sweeping, picking up trash, painting and performing general cleanup of plant areas and locomotive operations
- Performing daily preventative maintenance and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment under the guidance of designated personnel
- Operating equipment and performing other tasks within rail operations
- Performing daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintaining maintenance log
- Maintaining good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
- Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
Requirements
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
- Experience in conveyor and/or mobile equipment maintenance is a plus
