Under the assigned supervisor, the Crisis Specialist/Case Manager provides on-site crisis intervention, case management, counseling, or mental health services to adults in accordance with the agency's policies and program guidelines. The role focuses on alleviating or stabilizing mental health and behavioral health symptoms that impair clients' ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability. Services are provided 24/7/365 inside the Living Room location.
Responsibilities
- Provides crisis intervention services within scheduled shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Conducts in-person crisis/safety assessments with a Peer Support professional using assessment tools to determine immediate level-of-care needs.
- Facilitates linkage to necessary level of care, including psychiatric hospitals, shelter resources, food banks, insurance, medical resources, and employment resources.
- Provides follow-up services such as linkages to resources, mental health assessments, treatment plans, and other case management services under the agency’s trauma-informed Framework (ARC).
- Provides mental health stabilization and specific services according to funding sources (e.g., Medicaid) where applicable.
- Completes required paperwork within established timelines, including Medicaid-compliant documentation such as assessment notes, case notes, and client file maintenance.
- Provides transportation for clients within program guidelines.
- Serves as a central point of communication for service components during a crisis.
- Represents the agency at court hearings as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in a human service-related field.
- 1-3 or more years of related experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with required auto insurance coverage.

- Proficient in Microsoft Suite with adaptability to expand software skills as needed.
- Highly organized, flexible, and capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Resourceful in researching issues and developing solutions with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, active listening).
- Ability to build professional relationships and demonstrate problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality.

Schedule
Program operates 24/7/365, with schedules including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Additional coverage may be required based on staffing needs.
