Live -3rd Shift

Job Summary

Perform a variety of duties related to the processing of poultry, including working with live chicken or raw chicken.

Essential Functions

• Pick up live birds by hand from the incoming MODs (trays)
• Hang bird by both feet on hooks
• Identify and disposition any birds that do not meet standard
• Although typically assigned to a single department, production and staffing needs will dictate periodic changes; all applicants must be willing and able to work in other departments and positions as needed and assigned

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Willing to work in a variety of conditions: hot, cold, wet, and noisy
• Willing and able to work around industrial equipment
• Stand for several hours
• Lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
• Repetitive use of the arms, wrists, and hands

Qualifications

• Previous poultry production experience OR previous experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English or Spanish, such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to complete checklists
