Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation and organization of materials needed for Sunday liturgies, weekday Masses, and special liturgical celebrations.
- Prepare, copy, organize, and distribute scripts, binders, worship materials, minister sheets, Mass count sheets, and other liturgical materials.
- Set up worship spaces and sanctuaries for Sunday liturgies.
- Post Sunday texts and other needed materials in appropriate locations.
- Interface with sacristans, coordinators, and liturgical ministers during Sunday liturgies.
- Help troubleshoot liturgical operations and respond to needs that arise before, during, or after Mass.
- Prepare and print weekday lector sheets and weekday Mass intention sheets.
Worship Space Organization and Reset
- Affiliate with the regular reset of worship spaces following Sunday liturgies.
- Tidy missalettes, remove outdated materials, recycle old worship aids, and maintain appropriate materials near church entrances.
- Maintain bulletin boards, check-in areas, and liturgical storage spaces.
- Maintain the Book of Patrick and Ambry prayer book materials.
- Support plant care and the general appearance of worship spaces.
- Empty the sacrarium tank and complete required logs.
- Bring used altar cloths, linens, and seasonal vestments to the dry cleaner and pick up clean items as needed.
Liturgical Supplies and Inventory
- Monitor, restock, and organize liturgical supplies, including hosts, wine, candles, baptismal candles, gift bearer materials, mints, cough drops, and related items.
- Reorder supplies from Monk’s Church Supply or other approved vendors as needed.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and alert the Director of Liturgy to supply needs or concerns.
Scheduling, Training, and Administrative Support
- Affiliate with Ministry Scheduler Pro and sacristan scheduling support, including setting up schedule templates as directed.
- Support Come Fourth Sunday liturgical minister training sessions.
- Maintain training registration spreadsheets.
- Print and prepare registration materials for trainings.
- Follow up on liturgical minister profiles and related scheduling information.
- Review minister check-in sheets and follow up on no-shows as directed.
- Provide other administrative and operational support to the Director of Liturgy.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow through on recurring weekly tasks.
- Comfort working in a church environment and respect for Catholic liturgical life.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with staff, volunteers, and liturgical ministers.
- Clear and courteous communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including comfort with spreadsheets, printing documents, and maintaining records.
- Willingness to learn parish systems such as Ministry Scheduler Pro.
- Ability to manage multiple details in a busy worship and parish setting.
- Flexibility to work additional hours during major liturgical seasons and special events.
Physical And Work Requirements
- Ability to move throughout worship spaces, offices, sacristies, and storage areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, and organize liturgical supplies, binders, linens, candles, and related materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and complete light set-up and reset tasks.
- Availability for weekday, Saturday, and Sunday work as part of the regular schedule.
Pay And Benefits
This position has an hourly range of $20.00 – $25.00. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
