Litigation Paralegal - Personal Injury

About the role

Support litigation attorneys by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, disclosure statements, subpoenas, affidavits, and discovery requests or responses. Keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible.

Responsibilities

• Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
• Review, request, compile, and organize medical records including facilitating third-party vendor services for such
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, disclosure statements, subpoenas, affidavits, and discovery requests or responses; file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
• Communicate with clients and witnesses as directed by supervising attorney
• Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings

Requirements

• Paralegal certificate preferred
• 4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal under attorney supervision
• At least one year of personal injury experience
• Excellent organizational skills, follow-up, and time-management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
