About the role
The Litigation Paralegal will support in-house counsel across general liability, employment, and commercial landlord/tenant matters. This is a hands-on role for a paralegal who owns their work, coordinates with defense counsel and insurance carriers, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft and organize pleadings, subpoenas, discovery responses, position statements, and correspondence
- Manage the legal calendar: court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and compliance timelines
- Support premises liability, personal injury, vendor and contractor disputes, and workers' compensation matters
- Assist with EEOC, wage-and-hour, and workplace investigations
- Cook up with HR, Risk, Operations, external counsel, insurance carriers, and vendors
- E-file and maintain legal files
- Trial and hearing preparation, including exhibits, witnesses, and logistics
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Paralegal Certificate or CLA required; Notary Public a plus
- Minimum 4 years paralegal experience; at least 3 years in insurance and general liability, landlord-tenant, and/or employment law
- In-house legal experience preferred
- Experience with personal injury, premises liability, vendor disputes, insurance policies and coverage, and employment claims
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), SharePoint, and legal document management systems
- Familiarity with state and federal court rules, litigation procedure, and e-filing systems
- Strong written and verbal communication; highly organized; discretion with confidential information
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
