Litigation Paralegal
About the role
Trueline's client, a respected insurance defense law firm with a strong presence in California and Nevada, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their downtown Los Angeles team. This hybrid role requires a minimum of two in-office days per week and offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters across multiple practice areas, including professional liability, construction, and premises defense.
Responsibilities
- Manage case files and documents, including organizing exhibits and supporting materials for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
- Oversee complex discovery processes, including e-discovery and third-party subpoenas.
- Manage Bluebooking for federal cases and state cases according to the California Style Manual.
- Provide trial/arbitration support, including witness preparation and coordination with courts/vendors.
- Support the preparation of legal pleadings in state/federal courts and arbitrations.
- Calendaring, e-filing, and managing court deadlines.
- Draft and file legal pleadings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate
- 4+ years of litigation paralegal experience in state and federal trial courts
- Proficiency in Westlaw, iManage, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office, and e-discovery platforms
- Strong skills in drafting, filing, and serving legal pleadings in state/federal courts and arbitrations
- Expertise in calendaring, e-filing, and managing court deadlines
- Strong research, writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with outstanding problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
- Experience providing trial/arbitration support, including witness preparation and coordination with courts/vendors
- Familiarity with insurance defense litigation practices and procedures
