Litigation Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to lead our busy workers' compensation department in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling workers' compensation matters, representing clients at hearings and appeals, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney to take a leadership role, manage a dedicated paralegal team, and ensure the efficient handling of workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the workers' compensation department and oversee daily case operations.
• Handle workers' compensation hearings, appeals, and other legal proceedings.
• Draft, review, and file settlement agreements, stipulations, and other legal documents.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of paralegals to ensure accurate and timely case processing.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and addressing their questions and concerns.
• Manage case files, deadlines, court filings, and other administrative responsibilities.
• Develop and implement effective strategies for managing workers' compensation cases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedural requirements.
• Monitor case progress and ensure matters are handled efficiently and professionally.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience practicing workers' compensation law.
• Demonstrated experience handling hearings, appeals, settlements, and related legal proceedings.
• Prior experience supervising paralegals or managing a legal team.
• Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and case management skills.
• Excellent client communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound legal judgment, and provide effective leadership.
