Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all billable tasks: medical records, discovery, etc.
- Drafts various legal documents for attorney review
- Requests, follows-up on, and organizes medical record files
- E-File documents within appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City)
- Manages and organizes case files
- Researches and analyzes case data
- Drafts discovery
- Communicates with outside counsel, physicians, court personnel and other experts
- Bills time contemporaneously
- Aids attorneys with case-related requests
- Responds to record and legal documentation requests
- Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties
- Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality
- Acts in a stewardship capacity for MVP
- Works as a genuine, confident, functional member of the team
- Is hardworking with the ability to be innovative and firm focused in alignment with our core values
Minimum Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year degree and a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a paralegal role within the civil litigation/tort practice area
- Superb communication/customer service skills - both written and verbal
- Micrsoft Office proficiency
- Organized
- Ability to juggle multiple high priority tasks at a time
- Excellent time management skills
