About the Role
MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for a Paralegal in our New Jersey or New York office. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach litigation as a unified team, integrating our efforts with those of our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
- Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and logistics, administrative/case management, client reporting, expert retention, and client communication.
- Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
- Draft and prepare initial drafts of various pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, motions in limine, and other pre-trial pleadings.
- Review and evaluate discovery documents including medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case material.
- Compose case assessments and evaluations for review by associates and partners.
- Contemporaneous accounting and submission of personal billable time.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of litigation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of independent work.
