About the role
The Law Offices of Chip Forstall is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our accomplished team. This role supports our mission of delivering justice and comprehensive legal advocacy to New Orleans residents.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation case files following the pre-litigation handoff, ensuring all files remain organized, current, and prepared for each stage of the litigation process.
- Manage litigation timelines by scheduling hearings, deadlines, and appointments, minimizing the risk of oversight.
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and memos for attorney review, maintaining accuracy and compliance with court standards.
- File court documents promptly and accurately, ensuring adherence to all local jurisdiction protocols.
- Collaborate with attorneys and the litigation team to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure a balanced workload.
- Aid in organizing and managing the litigation attorney’s workflow, keeping actions aligned with case priorities and deadlines.
- Identify potential issues before they arise, proactively suggesting solutions to maintain momentum and avoid delays.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of experience in litigation paralegal roles, with a preference for experience in personal injury or familiarity with Louisiana courts.
- Exceptional organization and detail orientation to manage case files, timelines, and documentation effectively.
- Comfortable learning proprietary legal software and using legal technology such as case management systems, Supio, Case Status, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of Louisiana court rules and procedures.
- Experience with legal research and document preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
