Litigation Paralegal
Job Details
A well established, mid sized, Austin based law firm is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to join it's team!
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
- Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments.
- Aid in the drafting and reviewing of legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, procedural motions, and correspondence.
- Organize and manage documents, and compile document productions into databases.
- Cook up and prepare materials for court filings and hearings, including exhibits and evidence.
- Coordinate and prepare logistics for depositions, including scheduling, document preparation, and transcript management.
- Maintain and update case files, calendars, and trial deadlines.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between relevant parties including clients, attorneys, experts, and court personnel.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent is required.
- Proficiency in trial preparation and knowledge of the litigation process, court rules, and procedures.
- Experience in document management and discovery, including e-discovery.
- Strong research skills and proficiency in legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal case management software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
