Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation matters, including pleadings, discovery, trial, and appeal.
- Conduct legal research, factual investigation, and document analysis.
- Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts, and legal memoranda.
- Cook up and manage the collection, review, and production of documents.
- Aid in deposition preparation, including the preparation of witness files and deposition outlines.
- Aid in trial preparation, including the creation of trial exhibits, witness binders, and trial notebooks.
- Liaise with clients, court personnel, experts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Manage and organize large case files and databases.
- Maintain and organize files.
- Monitor deadlines and juggle multiple tasks and cases simultaneously.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing papers, answering telephone calls, and maintaining and organizing files.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on commercial litigation.
- Paralegal certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research software such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong knowledge of the litigation process, legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with e-discovery platforms and case management software.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion.
- The ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
Pay
$80,000 - $130,000 per year
