Responsibilities
- Assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation from case initiation through trial and appeals.
- Prepare appellate records and appendices, including compiling and reviewing trial court documents and transcripts.
- Assisting with calendaring case deadlines.
- Assisting with drafting court filings and preparations in Federal and State courts, including appellate courts.
- Assisting with discovery, document collection, organization, review, and productions.
- Proofreading, cite checking and Bluebooking court briefs and discovery documents.
- Assisting with deposition, meeting, or interview preparations.
- Assisting with all aspects, including travel, of trial and arbitration preparations.
- Assisting litigation and appellate teams with preparations for oral arguments, including creating case and briefing binders.
- Preparing various charts and indices.
- Preparing and submitting timekeeping reports.
- Coordinating with external vendors.
- Performing various day-to-day case management tasks.

- Proactive and able to efficiently handle multiple projects and client matters simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior analytical and reasoning abilities.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with members across multiple offices.
- Available to travel as needed.
- Able to work overtime as necessary.
- Understanding of common litigation practices, procedures, regulations, and workflow.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and substantive paralegal experience.
- Candidate must meet any applicable state requirements governing the performance of paralegal duties, including any required certifications or qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
- Proficient in California state and U.S. federal court procedures.
- Proficient in Lexis Nexis and Westlaw.
- Proficient in iManage.
- Experience with eDiscovery Databases such as Relativity, Opus 2, and CaseMap.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
