Litigation Paralegal
About the Role
The Litigation Paralegal works in a team environment assisting litigation attorneys in all phases of the litigation lifecycle, ranging from pre-complaint investigation through trial and appeal. Consistently meets the Firm’s standards of excellence in supporting attorney teams and plays an active role in helping the Firm provide legal services of the highest caliber to clients.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in document collection and production, deposition preparation, hearings, and trials
- Organize and maintain case files using a variety of automated procedures
- Employ databases for searches and document retrieval
- Conduct cite checks and case pulls using Lexis and/or Westlaw databases
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with high academic standing
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once
- Initiative to problem-solve
- Capacity to meet strict deadlines
- Strong research skills
- Proficiency using computer software and the internet
- Flexibility to work a considerable amount of overtime and be available as needed
- Willingness and ability to make a two-year commitment
Schedule
This position is located in the New York office with a hybrid work schedule, subject to change. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Pay
The estimated salary for this role is $62,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
