Key Responsibilities
- Partner with attorneys to manage all aspects of personal injury case files, ensuring organization and efficiency from intake through resolution
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery responses
- Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to personal injury matters
- Cook up and support discovery processes, including document production, interrogatories, and medical records review
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, medical providers, and experts; assist in gathering and organizing critical evidence
- Absorb and prepare summaries and timelines for evaluating case facts, damages, and liability
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic files, including medical records, deposition transcripts, exhibits, and filings
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filings through docketing and calendaring systems
- Support trial preparation, including assembling trial binders, exhibits, and attending proceedings as needed
- Collaborate with team members on case strategy and provide support on special projects
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
- Ability to analyze legal and medical information and present it clearly and concisely
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
- Comfort with (or willingness to learn) legal case management systems such as Filevine and trial presentation tools
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited program is a plus
