Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough research and summarizing findings to provide critical support to attorneys and local counsel.
- Cooking, scheduling depositions with witnesses and key parties, while preparing all necessary documentation for attorney use in depositions or mediations.
- Reviewing discovery responses, formulating responses to discovery requests, and ensuring timely completion of all related tasks.
- Collecting, organizing, and summarizing essential records, such as medical, employment, and wage documentation from various sources.
- Aiding attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, correspondence, and reports.
- Locating, interviewing, and summarizing interviews of witnesses, and preparing detailed interview memoranda.
- Organizing, maintaining, and managing case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible.
- Entering and maintaining critical case data in case management systems, including damages, medical specials, and other pertinent information.
- Supporting trial preparation, including maintaining client libraries and expert databases, and assisting with assembling case materials.
- Adhering to and ensuring compliance with all client-specific guidelines and legal protocols.
- Performing any additional duties and tasks as directed by assigned attorneys.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a paralegal supporting attorneys in litigation defense.
- Extensive experience analyzing and summarizing medical records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with document management systems.
- Relativity experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
