Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery, and other pleadings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules
- File and serve motions, briefs, exhibits, appendices, and other documents in state and federal courts, including CM/ECF and File & Serve
- Conduct legal and factual research to support litigation matters
- Manage all aspects of electronic discovery, including loading, coding, Bates numbering, production logging, and document searches in Relativity
- Support attorneys in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial, including logistics, exhibits, witness and expert preparation, and technology needs
- Create and maintain case management repositories for new matters, with primary responsibility for file organization and timely distribution of court filings
- Organize discovery, pleadings, research, and case documents for attorney review and trial preparation
- Create binders for hearings, depositions, and trial
- Communicate with clients and opposing counsel to respond to inquiries and provide case updates
- Proofread and cite check legal documents for accuracy, formatting, and compliance
- Track case deadlines and support overall case management needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate preferred
- Five to fifteen years of litigation paralegal experience in a mid‑size or large law firm
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures
- Proficiency with CM/ECF and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Relativity experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines
- Able to prioritize competing demands and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document formatting tools
Compensation
Estimated salary range for candidates with five to fifteen years of experience is approximately $80,000 to $105,000
