The industry is undergoing unprecedented transformation, and we’re at the forefront.

The role

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced litigation manager (para‑legal) to oversee management of a growing litigation caseload of defaulted loans across three national litigation networks and over a hundred local attorney offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of active SoFi litigation placements with our attorney network across Personal Loans, Student Loans, and Credit Card accounts.
  • Review each network’s caseload and optimize execution, including assistance with preparations for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Review individual cases, assess proposed pleadings and settlement arrangements, and ensure proper documentation is available as needed.
  • Act as cross‑functional liaison between the external litigation network and SoFi’s in‑house counsel on matters that straddle both sides (e.g., a customer’s motion to compel arbitration).
  • Engage regularly with internal partners including Compliance, Finance, Internal Audit, and Third‑Party Risk Management.
  • Collaborate with the Recovery analyst to track performance at the network, state, and product level, introduce key industry metrics/KPIs, and deliver regular portfolio reporting to management.
  • Evaluate the current litigation engagement model, identify workflow gaps, and implement operational enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and project‑management skills, managing multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably managing a caseload of defaulted consumer loans at a FinTech, large bank, law firm, or in‑house legal department.
  • Bachelor’s degree with ABA‑approved Paralegal certification, or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies.
  • Significant experience with a litigation case‑management platform such as Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or a relational database used to manage litigation caseloads.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem‑solving skills.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication with keen attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Convoke’s suite of products, ideally Convoke Origin, Pulse, and CRM.
  • Knowledge of litigation scoring models and the variables that inform their performance.
  • Experience executing post‑judgment remedies (liens, garnishments, dormant judgment sales, etc.).
  • Expertise with data management, dashboard development, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to effectively communicate data metrics and insights to key stakeholders and leadership.

Note: Remote work from Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico is not available at this time.
