Litigation Legal Secretary

Position Overview

This role provides comprehensive administrative and legal support, including document preparation, e-filing, calendaring, billing coordination, and client interaction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a high-volume litigation setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents (pleadings, motions, correspondence)
  • Manage state and federal e-filing and maintain court deadlines/calendars
  • Cook up meetings, travel, and client communications
  • Maintain case files and document management systems (NetDocuments)
  • Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and case materials
  • Aid with billing, time entry, and expense processing
  • Support new matter intake and conflicts checks
  • Provide high-level administrative support to multiple attorneys

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation legal assistant/secretary experience (mid-to-large firm preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Texas and federal court procedures and e-filing systems (ECF)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management systems, and billing software
  • Advanced document formatting skills (TOC/TOA, styles, redlining)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment

Additional Details

  • Hybrid: Eligible for 1 remote day per week after 90 days
