Position Overview
This role provides comprehensive administrative and legal support, including document preparation, e-filing, calendaring, billing coordination, and client interaction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a high-volume litigation setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents (pleadings, motions, correspondence)
- Manage state and federal e-filing and maintain court deadlines/calendars
- Cook up meetings, travel, and client communications
- Maintain case files and document management systems (NetDocuments)
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and case materials
- Aid with billing, time entry, and expense processing
- Support new matter intake and conflicts checks
- Provide high-level administrative support to multiple attorneys
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation legal assistant/secretary experience (mid-to-large firm preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Texas and federal court procedures and e-filing systems (ECF)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management systems, and billing software
- Advanced document formatting skills (TOC/TOA, styles, redlining)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
