Litigation Legal Secretary

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to 2?3 attorneys managing active defense litigation caseloads.
  • Manage attorney calendars, monitor court deadlines, and maintain compliance with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (TRCP) and docket control orders.
  • Review incoming emails, pleadings, and court filings to identify critical deadlines and calendar all necessary events.
  • Download, save, and organize e-filed documents according to firm protocols.
  • Maintain all incoming and outgoing correspondence and case-related communications.
  • Cook up and process attorney expense reports.
  • Proactively remind attorneys and legal staff of upcoming deadlines and case events.
  • Prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy and organization.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of defense litigation legal secretary experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas state court procedures, including the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (TRCP).
  • Experience managing multiple attorney calendars and high-volume litigation dockets.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude.
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to producing high-quality work.
