A bit about us: National litigation law firm is seeking a legal assistant/office assistant for well established Austin office!

This firm is the premiere firm for practice areas such as insurance subrogation, products liability, catastrophic loss, and mass tort litigation. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a long-lasting career with a company that values its employees. Many of the team members have been with the firm for 5, 10, or even 15+ years.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support including drafting and proofreading legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
  • Assist in the preparation of case summaries, materials for discovery, and depositions.
  • Cook up complex case schedules, deadlines, and case management tasks.
  • Organize and maintain case files and documentation in a systematic manner.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals.
  • Manage correspondence and communication on behalf of attorneys.
  • Aid in trial preparation including the organization of exhibits, witness coordination, and trial setup.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules and protocols in document preparation and filing.
  • Utilize legal software and technology tools for efficient case management and tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a professional setting, law firm experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research software and litigation support tools.
  • Exceptional knowledge of federal and state court rules, legal terminology, and legal document formatting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and act decisively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with electronic filing systems and procedures.
